The Mount Joy Savings Institution opened its doors in October of 1853 at what is currently 87 East Main Street, Mount Joy, PA. In May of 1860, the bank was chartered as a state bank, and the name changed to Mount Joy Bank.The next significant change occurred in March of 1865 when the Mount Joy Bank was approved as a National Bank. The new name would be Union National Mount Joy Bank. On March 16, 1911, Union National Mount Joy Bank moved to its current Main Office location at 101 East Main Street. On February 6, 1998, the bank made a name change to Union National Community Bank. It remains this way today, with a solid foundation and a soaring future.
