uncb1The Mount Joy Savings Institution opened its doors in October of 1853 at what is currently 87 East Main Street, Mount Joy, PA. In May of 1860, the bank was chartered as a state bank, and the name changed to Mount Joy Bank.The next significant change occurred in March of 1865 when the Mount Joy Bank was approved as a National Bank. The new name would be Union National Mount Joy Bank. On March 16, 1911, Union National Mount Joy Bank moved to its current Main Office location at 101 East Main Street. On February 6, 1998, the bank made a name change to Union National Community Bank. It remains this way today, with a solid foundation and a soaring future.

May 1892: Harry N. Nissly first used the currency scissors to clip apart the signed currency. These are still used today, however, are used for ribbon-cutting ceremonies
Feb 1956: Acquisition of the Maytown National Bank
April 1972: Opening of Maytown office at 100 W. High Street
Oct 1972: First Mount Joy Motor Bank Branch charter and opening
Jan 1979: Donald Wolgemuth is voted Chairman of the Board for Union National Mount Joy Bank
May 1979: Established third full service bank branch office at 190 Stony Battery Road, Salunga
Nov 1980: First in-house computer installation at Union National
Dec 1984: First operational business day in Union National’s new Administrative Services Center (ASC), located at 25 North Barbara Street, Mount Joy. Second three-lane motor bank included in ASC project; total of seven operational drive-in lanes at the Mount Joy Office
Jan 1987: Effective operation date of holding company: Union National Financial Corporation; Union National Mount Joy Bank becomes subsidiary of new holding company
Jan 1988: Opening of the Elizabethtown Office at 1275 South Market Street
Oct 1992: Opening of the Columbia Office at 921 Lancaster Avenue
Aug 1993: 140th Anniversary celebration combined with Customer Appreciation Day
Nov 1995: Opening of the Manheim Office at 701 Lancaster Road
Feb 1998: Union National Mount Joy Bank announces name change to Union National Community Bank
Jan 1999: Mark Gainer is named President/CEO of Union National
March 1999: New corporate logo introduced
April 1999: www.uncb.com introduced
Jan 2002: UnionNationalAdvisors was formed to deliver wealth accumulation, management and preservation solutions to personal and business clients. Included services are wealth and investment management, brokerage, retirement plans and insurance.
March 2002: Online Banking introduced
Jan 2003: Beginning of Union National’s 150th year!
Feb 2003: UNCB first bank in Lancaster County to give CASH BACK with Cash Back Checking Account
Nov 2003: Ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening of Manheim Township office at 38 East Roseville Road in Lancaster
Jan 2004: Union National joins the Promontory network to be the first in the region to offer CDARS – Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service – a product offering FDIC insurance on deposits greater than $100,000
March 2004: Commercial and Business Banking move to new location at 205 Granite Run Drive in Lancaster as Union National continues to expand its footprint in Lancaster County
March 2005: Assets reach over $400 million
April 2005: Union National begins sponsorship of the Union National Fun Patrol, the entertainment group with the Lancaster Barnstormers baseball team
July 2005: Union National acquires Home Team Financial
Sept 2005: Beam Signing at new Corporate Office located at 570 Lausch Lane in Manheim Township
Oct 2005: Union National named to Best Places to Work list for 3rd year in a row
Oct 2005: UNCB first bank in Lancaster County to offer free checking with no ATM fees
Feb 2006: Union National Community Bank’s Corporate
Headquarters is moved to the new Union National Professional Center at 570
